Unlike other sweetener options, Stevia is a more natural sugar substitute extracted from the leaves of the plant species Steviarebaudiana.

The body does not metabolize the glycosides in stevia and therefore it contains 0 calories. Stevia also does not increase blood glucose levels (a better sugar option for diabetics) and does not cause tooth decay. It is 250 to 300 times sweeter than cane sugar but tastes similar.
